One of the two Valkyrie daugheters of Odin. She is the only surviveing princess after her older sister died in battle. She is very soft spoken but has all of the valkyrie’s intensity, and lives for battle. Constantly neglected by her father, she chooses to set out and save the women velvet, her half sister , from excution. This act was simply to please her father who cared deeply for his long lost daugheter velvet, but let the excution go due to the fact the kingdom would be furious if he didn’t. As a traditional valkyrie punshiment for disobeying the law, Gwendolyn is put under a spell that will force her to sleep until a man awakens her with a kiss. Then from that day on she will be forced to love him and bear his children. But her heart will not be under this spell, she is simply forced to love the man who awakens her. Luckily for her, Oswald awakens her with his kiss. Although at first she saddened and terrified that the dark Knight who had killed so many soldiers is her husband. But After she witness’s his loveing devotion to her, and the equality and attention he provides to her, her heart falls for him. Finally, both Gwendolyn and Oswald have found someone who truly cares for them, and treats them not as an object. But someone with thoughts, feelings, emotions, and opinions. When Oswald is taken by the Halji (sp?) to the depths of the netherworld. Gwendolyn bravely takes on the queen of death, Odette to free her husband from Odette’s grasp. Together they escape thanks to Odin, and FINALLY Gwendolyn informs her father that she shall gladly spend the rest of her life with Oswald, and that even though the spell still holds her, her heart knows that she and Oswald are ment to be together.
